    Once you have received your equipment you will be able to commence testing straight away. However free training for up to three people is available to help you get started. The cannabis cannabinoid gas chromatography system is designed for measuring THC, CBD, CBG, CBN, and other cannabinoid constituents in cannabis. It may also be used to measure synthetic cannabinoids, most edibles, butane residue, terpene, and aroma measurement, using optional analytical columns. This method is new to The Netherlands, but increasingly more attention is being paid to gas chromatography globally due to its status as a preferred method of testing in the USA as laws on legality are changing.

The science behind our method

Gas chromatography is a mainly automated type of chemical analysis that is possible with a sophisticated piece of laboratory equipment called, unsurprisingly, a gas chromatography machine. First, a small sample of the mixture of the cannabis combined with a methanol solution is placed in a syringe and injected into the machine.

The components of the mixture are heated and instantly vaporize. Next, we add a carrier which is simply a neutral gas (hydrogen), which is designed to help the gases in our sample move through the column. As the mixture travels through the column, it is adsorbed and separates out into its various components.

Each component emerges from the end of the column in turn, and moves past a flame ionizer detector which identifies it and prints a peak on a digital chart. The final chart has a series of peaks that correspond to all the substances in the mixture.
