NEW! On-Column PTV Injector
NEW!

  • Inject Larger Volumes onto Narrow Bore Columns
  • Concentrate Sample and Focus Peaks
  • Less Bulky than Conventional PTVs
  • Simpler than Split/Splitless Injectors
  • Great for Semi-Volatile Samples
The On-Column PTV injector is designed for larger volume injections than would otherwise be possible on narrow bore columns (0.25mm ID). It is a resistively heated pre-column, consisting of a length of MXT-1 megabore (7m film thickness) sheathed in an insulating sleeve, and connected to the users narrowbore column with a "T" fitting inside the GC column oven.

Similar to our Split/Splitless injector, the OCPTV can vent excess solvent while concentrating the sample. After sample injection and concentration, the OCPTV is heated to a temperature approximately 50-100oC hotter than the column oven. When the analytes move onto the cooler column, they are focused into a plug of sharp peaks. The OCPTV injector's relay activated heat and solenoid vent control can be automated by the PeakSimple data system for reproducibility.

This chromatogram is from an SRI 8610C GC equipped with an OCPTV injector and ECD detector. Two microliters of 5ppb pesticides mix were injected onto the OCPTV by syringe. The narrow bore column used was a 15-meter RTX-1 with 0.25 micron film thickness.

This chromatogram is from an SRI 8610C GC equipped with an OCPTV injector and FID detector. The sample was 100ppm diesel range organics (C10-C28) in hexane; two microliters were injected onto the OCPTV by syringe. The narrow bore column used was a 25-meter RTX-1 with 0.25 micron film thickness.

Less bulky than conventional PTV injectors, the OCPTV does not require an adapter for use with megabore columns. Choose the type of megabore and coating appropriate for your application (specify when ordering, if other than MXT-1 with 7m film thickness). The OCPTV can be used to sample on pre-column, for in-tube SPME, and other applications.
